Pacific Rugby Premiership Returns
DENVER, CO. OCTOBER 29TH 2014 –The Pacific Rugby Premiership returns in 2015, following a hugely successful first season that raised the bar for domestic rugby competition in the US.
San Francisco Golden Gate will look to defend their Premiership crown, won in spectacular fashion vs. the Glendale Raptors in front of a capacity crowd at Infinity Park, CO.
Belmont Shore, Denver Barbarians, Glendale Raptors, Olympic Club, Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC), and Santa Monica, will all be fiercely chasing San Francisco Golden Gate (SFGG) for the honor of being 2015 Pacific Rugby Premiership Champions.
The first round of games kick off on January 31st, with old rivalries renewed from the outset as Belmont Shore seek to claim their dominance over SoCal neighbors Santa Monica. SFGG will hope to continue their winning ways versus a resurgent Olympic Club in the “Battle of the Bay”. OMBAC also host the Glendale Raptors, who will be licking their wounds from last season’s Premiership Final. Teams will again play each other both home and away over a 14 week period, culminating in the Premiership Final on May 16th. The PRP will continue to serve as a platform for clubs and players to showcase the depth of homegrown rugby talent here in the USA - pitching the leading teams in the country against each other week in, week out.
This season Canterbury renews its partnership with the PRP, becoming the official jersey supplier to each of the seven teams in the league. Robbie Flynn (CEO Canterbury North America) states, “This year the brand launches a new global tagline: “Committed To The Game”. Our partnership with the PRP encapsulates this perfectly. We are committed to helping the PRP build a platform of elite rugby here in the US, giving players a competitive schedule that will raise the level of not only the clubs but help feed the national team.”
Licensed supporters jerseys will be available to purchase online through canterburyus.com and worldrugbyshop.com from January 23rd, 2015.
